Travelling to Koh Phan Ngan in the Gulf of Thailand in winter months often brings cloud cover and some rough seas, which offer a completely different colour palette to the scene.

There are certain places around the world where the wind and sea calm down at sunset, creating a mirror-like surface that reflects the colours of the sky perfectly. It creates a surreal colour-scape that reminds me of petrol being spilt on water, and is truly sublime.
I have spent many years trying to capture this beautiful experience and the stillness it inspires, the following images were also taken on Thailand's Koh Phan Ngan.
