OCEANS OVERSEAS

A long term photographic project to capture the ocean in both motion and stillness,
as a
meditation to explore the inner experience and how that makes us feel.

Travelling to Koh Phan Ngan in the Gulf of Thailand in winter months often brings cloud cover and some rough seas, which offer a completely different colour palette to the scene.
There are certain places around the world where the wind and sea calm down at sunset, creating a mirror-like surface that reflects the colours of the sky perfectly.  It creates a surreal colour-scape  that reminds me of petrol being spilt on water, and is truly sublime.

I have spent many years trying to capture this beautiful experience and the stillness it inspires, the following images were also taken on Thailand's Koh Phan Ngan.
